Well it has been a few weeks since the National Championship game in-between Villanova Wildcats and the my North Carolina Tar Heels. The Tar Heel lost in a super intense and close game at the last buzzer. You could say I was completely devastated. My eyes filled up with tears so quickly. I was so excited that they got to the championship game, I was basically giddy with excitement from the day they won in the final four until they were on the court. Even though it has been a while since they lost, I am still damaged and very sad about it. They had an amazing run and I am very proud of them, but I wish they would have won. It was a great season either way. I am super sad that we are losing Marcus Paige, Brice Johnson, and Joel James. They were our three seniors and I loved them so much )': I am very excited for next year and what our new recruiting class along with our players from this year have to offer.

ACC in Sweet 16

WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!! North Carolina is in the Sweet 16 and after reseeding, they are now NUMBER 1!!!!!!!! YEAHHHHH! GO TAR HEELS! Anyways, in the first round they easily beat Florida Gulf Coast University. All the haters can go away because everyone said UNC would be the first top seed to lose, but now they are in the Sweet 16. In the second round, which no one thought would be easy, they beat Providence. It was back in forth in the first half, and then in the second half they pulled away with ease. They proved their point that they are a championship team. I've known it all along, but now they are making more people believe that as well. They now have to play Indiana Friday. It will be a pretty good game, but I know North Carolina is the better team and they should definitely win. On the other hand, there are 6 ACC teams in the Sweet 16. That is a new record for the amount of teams from one conference in the Sweet 16. The ACC is great this year.

Today, a lot happened in the ACC. Not only were there wins, but there were some important wins. Boston College became the first ACC team to ever be completely winless in football and basketball in the conference. Therefore, they are by far the worst team in the conference, obviously. Today, UNC and Duke played each other at the Cameron indoor stadium. Fortunately, UNC won. Earlier in the season, Duke beat UNC at the Dean Smith Center. Now they are both 1-1 against each other and beat beat each other at their own stadiums. UNC is #8 while Duke is #17. Hopefully UNC goes farther in the tournament.

UNC moves up

Since my last blog which was about two weeks ago, a lot has changed. UNC has moved from #2 in the conference, to #1. They have also moved from #6 overall to #2 in the new power rankings at the beginning of the week. Then, just from within one day and one big time loss from the #1 team, the Oklahoma Sooners, North Carolina moved to #1. This has happened because all the teams ahead of North Carolina when they were #6 lost to either low ranked teams or unranked teams. While I can't short North Carolina credit for not losing and playing really well, if it weren't for those teams losing, they would still probably be #6. They are playing at a very high level thanks to Senior Brice Johnson who increases the intensity a tremendous amount. I cannot short the other players credit, either though. Even though Marcus Paige hasn't been showing up, others have been stepping up. Hopefully we can move up to #1, but keep that spot also.

The ACC Conference

The Atlantic Coast Conference is composed of fifteen schools overall. The ACC is in all sports as it represents each school fully. This conference has always been known as one of the best and it almost always lives up to those standards. One of the reasons I love it so much is because in it, is my favorite team, the North Carolina Tar Heels. The Tar Heels basketball team are now #2 in the ACC Conference, but #6 overall. Even their football team did very well. They were almost into the playoffs for college football until one of their fellow ACC teams beat them. The ACC has six top 25 teams in their conference. That is one of the reasons the ACC is known as one of the best. This conference was founded in 1953 in Sedgefield, North Carolina. Many conferences are put together by enrollment numbers, but not the ACC. The ACC is put together by the location, which is on the Atlantic Coast even though not all the schools are right on the coast. It is also based on the fact that all of them are in the Atlantic Coast Conference Academic Consortium.
